Hello, I’m Kaylan Streck. I live in (what is, in my opinion) the best city in the world! Tulsa, Oklahoma. ---Seriously.

           

Just after celebrating our first anniversary of marriage, my husband Justin, and I bought our very first home. And for the last 5 months we have been learning a ton about renovations, our style, and what it means to live on one income! You heard me right, two weeks after the purchase of our home; we decided that it was time for me to pursue my dream of being a homemaker/Etsy seller!

But believe me, as amazing as it sounds, it definitely has its downsides. Like any job, being an Etsy Housewife is filled with its ups and downs.

My goal is not to romanticize this lifestyle, but to give you a peek into the realities of it. The financial pitfalls, the small seemingly insignificant victories, and the (lets face it) occasional Netflix binge…

Hopefully some of you can relate, and all of you will enjoy!

Just for fun, here are some fun facts about me so you can know what you’re getting yourself into…

•     I absolutely love vacuuming!
•     I am a lefty.
•     A part of me is worried that I won’t love my human baby as much as I love my dog.. (kind of awkward, but true.)
•     When I first started staying home, I practically had a part time job watching all seasons of ‘Call the Midwife’. YIKES
•     The day I learned I wanted to be a “stay-at-home” anything was in the 1^st grade. My mom had to pick me up early because I fell outside and ripped my pants, and we spent the day going to Target, and Hobby Lobby, taking my dad lunch, and painting ceramics. And I thought, “Oh yeah, I could do this everyday.”
•     I could eat a piece of coconut cream pie 3 meals a day, everyday.
